Come visit l'X during the school’s Open House. On Saturday, October 12, for the first time, École Polytechnique will open its campus to visitors for an open house.
At the event, visitors will discover stands presenting the school’s six training courses, summer schools and programs for high school students. Training opportunities will also be presented at conferences and thematic workshops that will address career and professional issues, admissions procedures and MOOCs.
Around twenty stands manned by École Polytechnique research scientists, doctoral researchers and students will present research from the Research Center’s 23 laboratories and some of the challenges of modern science. Nine laboratories will also host open house events allowing visitors to witness the everyday reality of researchers and get a behind-the-scenes look at research. A series of conferences will also allow visitors to immerse themselves in various fields, including mathematics and chemistry, as well as topics like the Sun and the science of Star Wars, and meet Gérard Mourou, the 2018 laureate of the Nobel Prize in Physics.
Finally, entrepreneurship at École Polytechnique will be presented through a conference and stands held by the school’s start-ups.
Throughout the day, campus tours will present the school’s 12 living spaces. The temporary and permanent exhibitions of the school's museum will also be open to the public, along with an exhibition on art and science.
