L’X represented at the first Vietnam Global Leaders Forum

Alumni and current students of École Polytechnique from Vietnam and its diaspora attended the first Vietnam Global Leaders Forum (VGLF 2019).

On March 30th and 31st in Paris, the State Commission for Vietnamese Overseas, under the patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, launched the “Vietnam Global Leaders Network” (VGLN), the network of Vietnamese leaders in the world, at a forum co-organized with the Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts (AVSE Global).

This first Vietnam Global Leaders Forum (VGLF 2019) brought together around 300 participants, including 200 Vietnamese personalities who are leaders in their respective fields, from more than 25 countries and regions of the world. Besides mobilizing the Vietnamese international diaspora, the objective of this forum was to accelerate the trajectory of Vietnam to Industry 4.0.

Many alumni and current students of École Polytechnique from Vietnam and its diaspora attended this event: a real opportunity for different generations to meet each other. Xuan Bach Chu (X2014) and Nhat Minh Dao (X2017) who received the Chuc Hoang merit Scholarship, had the chance to meet Chuc Hoang (X1964), Grand Donateur of École Polytechnique Foundation, who funds this scholarship and is also one of the four sponsors of the Vietnam Global Leaders Forum. Hoang Nam Nguyen (X2016) also met his godfather Tru Do-Khac (X1979), founding president of X-Intellectual Property and X-Open-Innovation.

Each year, École Polytechnique receives Vietnamese students, mostly from prestigious institutions such as Hanoi University of Science (VNU-HUS) and the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT), in Master's degree programs or in the Ingénieur Polytechnicien Program. Since 2017, students from the Hanoi University of Science High School for Gifted Students, the High School for the Gifted VNU-HCM and the Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, also joined the Bachelor program.
