L’X signs an Academic and Research cooperation agreement with King’s College London
On February 20th, King’s College London and École Polytechnique signed a Memorandum of Understanding for Education and Research. This signing ceremony, held in London, formalised existing concrete and well-advanced projects.
Research collaborations already exist between King’s College London (King’s) and l’X in Computer Science and Theoretical Physics, among others. Thanks to very promising research links in bioinformatics and theoretical physics for study of many-electron systems, two professors from King’s will be invited to join l’X Research Center for a visit in 2019-2020. With this agreement, the cooperation strategy will expand the visiting professors programme which will help identify fields of study with strong potential for joint research collaboration.
In Education, the Memorandum of Understanding formalises an ERASMUS exchange agreement allowing undergraduate students to spend one semester at the partner university. In September 2019, several Bachelor students from l’X will go to King’s College London and École Polytechnique expects to receive students from King’s as part of the International Academic Exchange Program (applications open).
This agreement signed between King’s represented by Professor Funmi Olonisakin, Vice President and Vice-Principal International, and École Polytechnique represented by Rachel Maguer, Vice President for Marketing and International Relations, formalised these projects and paves the way for new collaborations in other fields or programmes, focusing in particular on collaborations with the Faculty of Natural & Mathematical Sciences at King’s, which comprises departments in Chemistry, Engineering, Informatics, Mathematics and Physics.
