X-Forum: when companies meet students from l’X

The 25th edition of the X-forum, on October 9th and 10th 2017 gathered around 2000 students and more than 160 companies, schools, corps and universities. Two distinctions were awarded on that occasion: the Jean-Louis Gerondeau Prize – Zodiac Aerospace and the Pierre Faurre Prize.

Workshops, conferences, interviews and networking sessions were in the program of these two days dedicated to meetings between students and employers. Organized for École Polytechnique students, but also for business or engineering schools’ students, Master’s or PhD students, this professional meeting enabled to discover companies, to find an internship or a first employment contract and to identify academic opportunities, while establishing privileged contacts with the present exhibitors.

Four prestigious partners

Large companies like Accenture, Eiffage, Orange and JPMorgan Chase were the four prestigious partners of this 25th edition that gathered more than 150 companies from the industry, services, telecoms, audit, consulting or even the banking or insurance sectors. A dedicated area to small and medium-sized companies and to start-ups also enabled visitors to establish contacts with these particularly innovative and dynamic structures.

Two prizes to foster innovation

Two prizes were awarded to Ingénieur Polytechnicien students during this X-Forum: the Jean-Louis Gerondeau – Zodiac Aerospace that rewarded three promising start-ups, and the Pierre Faurre Prize, awarded to a young Ingénieur Polytechnicien alumnus, Othman Benjelloun Touimi, for his brilliant start of career.

Moreover, during this X-Forum, the largest student professional forum in France, École Polytechnique welcomed representatives of its international partner universities.

Apart from major companies, this event gathered 17 universities from 10 countries and favored exchanges between partner universities, students and the Vice-Presidency for Marketing and International Relations of École Polytechnique.

École Polytechnique students had the opportunity to talk with the representatives of partner universities about their third-year exchange program or research internship programs. The Vice-Presidency for Marketing and International Relations of École Polytechnique also met the representatives to create or strengthen the relationship between École Polytechnique and its partner universities. It was also the occasion to discuss new agreements of exchange programs.

École Polytechnique has currently over 200 agreements with foreign universities and over 30 double degrees. It conducts a very active internationalization policy. L’X encourages its students to go abroad to study, do research or work, and welcomes a large number of international students: 30% of students are international and 60 nationalities are represented on campus.
