For the third consecutive year, École Polytechnique hosted Opération CIEDS, an annual event dedicated to research and innovation in defense and security. The event, organized by the Center for Defense and Security Studies (CIEDS), in which many of the École Polytechnique's research laboratories are involved, is supported by the Ministry of the Armed Forces and the Defense Innovation Agency.
In the renowned International Collegiate Programming Contest, a team of students from École Polytechnique won a gold medal at the regional stage, followed by a bronze medal at the European event. The team has now qualified for the international final, to be held from August 31 to September 5, 2025.
Alain Aspect, a former student of the ENS-Cachan (now ENS-Paris-Saclay), professor at the Institut d'optique-université Paris-Saclay, professor at École polytechnique, and emeritus research director at the CNRS, was elected to the French Academy on June 26, 2025.
