Aleix Güell, researcher at Laboratory of Physics of Interfaces and Thin Films, has been awarded an ERC Proof of Concept grant. In a research paper published in Nucleic Acids Research, an international collaboration involving the Optics and Biosciences Laboratory shows the presence of nucleic acid knots called G-quadruplexes in helminth parasites. The researchers also identify molecules that can bind to these structures.
