Plasma-assisted methanation for CO2 recycling
Edmond Baratte, a recent doctor from the Plasma Physics Laboratory, is leading a project combining plasma technologies to produce methane from carbon dioxide in the most carbon-neutral way possible. Thanks to funding from SATT Paris-Saclay, the aim is to design a prototype showing the process's efficiency

Alliance - 20 years of transatlantic collaboration
The founding partner institutions of Alliance, including École Polytechnique, celebrated the 20th anniversary of their international collaboration on March 13, 2023, in Paris. On the occasion, a conference on climate change brought together internationally renowned researchers from the four partner universities who discussed the real impact and limitations of different economic tools aimed at direct decisions towards more sustainable solutions.

Attacking quantum field theories from first principles
Balt van Rees, a researcher at the Center for Theoretical Physics, is interested in the mathematical framework of quantum field theories, which are used in many areas of physics, still raises many questions. He is leading the QFTinAdS project funded by the European Research Council.

Ten of the Next40 2023 start-ups created by École Polytechnique’s alumni
The start-ups included in the 2023 Next40 /FrenchTech 120 lists were unveiled on February 19th. Ten of tte 40 Next 40 start-ups were created or co-founded by École polytechnique alumni. One out of five French unicorns - start-ups valued at more than $1 billion - also originated from the X entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem.

Roland Lescure (X87), the French Minister in charge of Industry, came to meet École Polytechnique’s students and start-ups of its ecosystem of entrepreneurship and innovation supported by its incubator, the Drahi X-Novation Center. He pleaded for École Polytechnique’graduates to fully support the new industrial zero carbon revolution.
