Eric Labaye named as President of École Polytechnique

Following the proposal of the Minister for the Armed Forces, Florence Parly, the Council of Ministers named Eric Labaye as President of École Polytechnique Board of Directors on August 3, 2018. He will take office at the head of the institution on September 17, 2018.

In his executive role, he will have the task of defining and supporting the structural direction of the institution in terms of education, research and innovation, in order to maintain the school’s high level of excellence and place it at the highest echelon worldwide.

In the rapidly changing environment of higher education, Eric Labaye’s mission is fully in line with the objective of the Paris-Saclay group of elite universities situated in the surroundings of École Polytechnique. The creation of this group, in which École Polytechnique will prove to be a driving force, was announced by the President of France last October under the provisional title of "NewUni".

Eric Labaye is a graduate of École Polytechnique and Télécom ParisTech, and previously held the position of Senior Associate Director at McKinsey & Company.

He is also a member of the ESSEC International Advisory Board, the Télécom ParisTech School Board, and the Strategic Council of the School of Public Affairs at Sciences Po. His appointment as President of École Polytechnique Board of Directors means that l’X will benefit from high-level executive authority and exceptional influence.
