École Polytechnique has confirmed its top position in the annual ranking of French engineering schools published by the specialist magazine L’Usine Nouvelle. L’X confirmed its top position in two of the four indicator categories in this ranking: internationalization and the integration of its students into professional life. It also secured first place in research, a category in which it ranked third in 2025.
From middle school to higher education, a variety of support measures can be implemented to encourage and assist women in achieving success in science. On Monday, 26 January, Juliette Toumelin (Head of the Equal Opportunities Division within the Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Responsibility Department) and Antigoni Alexandrou (CNRS Research Director at LOB) discussed the mentoring programmes available at École Polytechnique and the Institut Polytechnique de Paris.
Nicolas Roche, the Secretary-General for Defence and National Security (SGDSN), spoke to engineering students from the X23 and X24 classes about the latest 'National Strategic Review', which was coordinated by the SGDSN. He emphasised the importance of paragraph 112 of the review, which summarises the central scenario of the French authorities – preparing for war – and encouraged Polytechnique students to play their full part in it.
École Polytechnique was involved in the Conference of the Parties (COP) on climate change through its observer status as an independent non-governmental research organization. This involvement, which took the form of sending a representative, Joan Delort Ylla, a research engineer at the Laboratory of Dynamic Meteorology (LMD), and organizing events on campus, is part of the School's commitment to ecological transition as outlined in its Climate Plan.
The X-Forum, an annual event dedicated to employability and bringing together students from École Polytechnique and Institut Polytechnique de Paris with companies, took place on November 25 and 26. More than 150 companies were able to interact with nearly 2,000 participants, including 1,000 École Polytechnique students.

From 27 to 31 October, the Equal Opportunities Unit organised a 'CPGE Boost' course for 30 scholarship students in their first year of scientific preparatory classes, hailing from all corners of France. This edition took place on the École Polytechnique campus for the first time, enabling these young people to envisage themselves in excellence-driven scientific training programmes and to benefit from the ecosystem of a leading engineering school.
On October 14, 2025, École Polytechnique hosted the University Fair, bringing together six Grand Corps of the French State, fifteen international universities, and twelve French higher education institutions. Organised by the International Affairs Office, the Direction of the Ingénieur Polytechnicien Program, and the Direction of the Bachelor's Program, this event allowed École Polytechnique’s students to explore the opportunities offered by the participating institutions in order to inform their further career choices.
École Polytechnique celebrated international mobility, cultural diversity, and language exchange at its on-campus International Day event, held on campus on Thursday, October 16. The event was filled with enriching encounters and discoveries.
